The Constitutional Review

  The Constitution

Professor Frederick Sempebwa,
Chairman of the Constitutional Review Commission

The Constitutional Review Commission was set up in March 2001 under the Commissions of Inquiry Act. Its duty is to consider and get opinions of all Ugandans, both in Uganda and abroad, on the 20 items of spelt out in the Terms of Reference (TOR). However, the Commission, under item 20, has the power to go beyond the terms of reference.

The Constitutional Review Commission mandate runs for 18 months from March 2001 to September 2002. Public hearings are to be conducted countrywide as the Commission endeavours to reach all Ugandans.

There are Ugandans and other people the Commission may not be able to reach or who may not be able to submit their contributions to the Commission. This site has been set up to meet the needs of such. You can submit your contributions and discuss with others on issues you of concern to you.
